SWFRS Staff to represent their clubs in Welsh Rugby Union’s ‘Finals Day’!

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service (SWFRS) are proud to have several members of staff represent their local rugby clubs and compete in Welsh Rugby Union’s ‘Finals Day’ this Saturday (8 April 2023) in the Principality Stadium.

Finals Day is the culmination of a season long cup competition, bringing together teams from across the country within each division to achieve the dream of playing rugby in the Principality Stadium.

Up first will be Firefighter Teifion Hight, representing Ferndale, against Crew Manager Cerrig Wilson, who will be representing Crumlin, in the Division 5 Cup Final.

Followed by Crew Manager Ryan Lane and brothers Firefighter Tom Phillips and Watch Manager Dan Phillips representing Nantyglo against Bryncethin in the Division 4 Cup Final.

Firefighter Mike Williams is the final member of SWFRS taking to the field, representing Abertillery against Vadre in the Division 3 Cup Final.

We are extremely proud of all the members of Team South Wales taking part and representing their clubs in the Principality Stadium.

A special mention goes to Dan Phillips, who is a player-coach for both Nantyglo RFC and the Welsh and UK Fire Services RFC teams.

We wish all the teams the very best of luck!
