Smoke Alarms Save Lives – House Fire, Dinas Powys

This morning, Friday the 29th of May 2020 South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call following the activation of a smoke alarm at a residential property in Murch, Dinas Powys.

Firefighters from Penarth and Cardiff Central worked to extinguish the fire using a range of specialist equipment. One person was recovered from the property and was taken to Morriston Hospital. Work continues to ensure the area is made safe and a fire investigation will now take place to determine the cause of the fire. We would like to remind the public that they should have working smoke alarms and test them regularly. Smoke alarms, save lives.
