Are you aged between 13 and 18 and ready to make a difference?

Our Fire Cadet programme offers young people a unique insight into working within an emergency service.

We offer great opportunities to develop personal and social skills through activities which promote self-discipline, team work and citizenship. There is also the chance to achieve recognised qualifications and awards.

On Duty- being a Fire Cadet

As a Fire Cadet you will be treated as a young trainee firefighter, learning the basic skills required of a firefighter while participating in activity in and around your local Fire Cadet branch. You will be provided with your own uniform and fire kit which you will need to take good care of, and you will be expected to attend a weekly drill night at your Fire Cadet branch.

Off Duty- social events and activities

In addition to weekly activities at your local branch you will have the chance to take part in a range of outdoor activities, camps, competitions and social trips. Many of our Cadet groups play an active part in their community supporting local initiatives. There is also the chance to work towards gaining a qualification.
