Firefighters attended a road traffic collision involving one petrol tanker and one car. Crews made the vehicles safe, no persons trapped or injured.

Firefighters attended a fire involving a communal rubbish bin on the ground floor at the rear. Smoke circulated through the communal shoots into a flat on the 8th floor. Firefighters in breathing apparatus were used. The fire was extinguished prior to the arrival of Fire Crews.

Firefighters attended a fire involving approximately 200 tonnes of household waste for recycling which was well alight. Firefighters used four ground monitors, a high volume pump, two mechanical diggers and one breathing apparatus to deal with the blaze.

Firefighters rescued a man from the river bed using three inflatable walkways and the basket stretcher. Casualty then dealt with by paramedics.

Firefighters attended a single storey building fire. Four firefighters in breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one thermal imaging camera and one triple extension ladder used to deal with blaze.

Group Manager Richie Prendergast was incident commander and praised fire crews for their effective actions.

“The fire was relatively minor in this disused building and was kept to a minimum by fire crews, whose effective intervention confined the fire to a small part of the roof. We sent the chemical unit as a precaution, due to suspected presence of asbestos. However, this was not involved in fire and the Firefighters were successful in keeping damage to the building and disruption to the community to a minimum.”
