Crucial Crew

What is Crucial Crew?

Crucial Crew is a multi agency approach to passing on safety messages to Year 6 children (10-11 age group) prior to their progression to secondary education.

The children are shown a DVD which illustrates the rapid development of a fire in a domestic situation. They are given advice in what to do in the event of a fire and Identify the main causes of fire in the home. They are instructed about the importance of having working smoke alarms and how to evacuate the home safely in the event of a fire.

What are the course objectives?

Crucial Crew reinforces the information which has already been given by the local fire stations when visiting schools in Year 5. The information concentrates on safely procedures  relating to prevention, detection and escape  from  a building affected by fire. This information is designed to help inform and keep safe the pupils throughout the South Wales area.
