This type of appliance is the alternative to the unit described above.  It generally carries the same type of equipment with the exception of a 10.5m main ladder and a water tank with a capacity of 1350 litres. 

The 4 wheel drive capability enables this type of appliance to operate in the hillier areas of the Brigade irrespective of weather conditions and without the need of a lightweight 4 wheel drive back-up unit.  It is also invaluable when dealing with incidents in forestry, on mountain sides and on farm land.
