All our Fire Stations are situated within the heart of the community they serve.
Every Station is committed to working in partnership with a wide range of local organisations to meet our overall aim of reducing fire deaths and injuries. For instance, each Station has developed strong links with all of the local schools in their area and routinely educates young people about the dangers of fire.
There is a huge range of innovative and effective schemes being delivered by our Stations, both locally and across Wales which operate effectively because of dedicated working groups. The Home Fire Safety Check initiative is a national initiative delivered locally by Stations and allows the public to receive a free safety check of their home and free smoke alarms fitted.
Our Stations are also involved in delivering safety messages at various public events and community meetings and are always keen to invite local groups to use the facilities at the stations.
Additional partnerships are currently being developed with a number of ‘Communities First’ groups and it is hoped that these links will help identify local issues by engaging with people in their own community.
