Free Business Fire Safety Workshop

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service are holding Fire Safety Workshops at their Headquarters in Pontyclun on July 5th 2010 and August 18th 2010, both at 11.00am.

The workshops are limited to 20 persons, and are based on a "first come first served" basis, and will last approximately two hours. To reserve your place on the workshop, please contact the Legislative Fire Safety Department on 01443 232732 or 01443 232520

Background

In 2006, The Fire Safety Order came into force, and replaced the Fire Precautions Act 1971 and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations. Since its introduction, many employers across the country still do not fully understand their responsibilities and we will fully explain these, plus discuss our enforcement procedures, appeals and any penalties and/or fines that the Courts have the power to impose.

Purpose

The purpose of our presentation is to give employers, managers and owners of businesses in the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service area information on;

• their responsibilities and duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order,

• Fire Risk Assessments, and

• Fire Safety Audit expectations.
