Bernie's Back!

Bernie is back and he wants to meet Ewe! This year Bernie will be hitting the streets of South Wales and visiting primary schools with a BAAR – rilliant new roadshow!

On Tuesday 2nd February Bernie will be herding to Darren Park Primary in Ferndale to launch the roadshow and meet the pupils. The roadshow will be used to engage and educate the young people on the consequences of deliberately setting grass and mountain fires – especially when it comes to their homes, the landscape and the wildlife living in the countryside of South Wales.

In the lead up to the Easter holiday period the Bernie roadshow will visit primary schools across the area of Rhondda Cynon Taff (RCT).  Annually, this is the area that suffers the highest number of grass and mountain fires due to deliberate fire setting; during March to April 2015 there were 429 deliberate grass fires.
