Treorchy Fire and Rescue Station 


Treorchy Fire Station serves the main town of Treorchy and several surrounding villages including Cwmparc, Ynyswen, Treherbert, Tynewydd, Blaenrhondda and Blaencwm. The estimated population of the Station area is 21,000 people.

Treorchy Fire Station serves a diverse range of light and heavy industries. Business and residential areas; one large hospital, several nursing/residential homes for the elderly; and a cinema/theatre are all within its area.

Community Initiatives

• Road Traffic Collision reduction education with young people at secondary schools.
• Free home fire Safety checks installing smoke detectors and offering safety advice in our communities.
• Visits to factories, hospitals and industrial sites on a regular basis to maintain our local risk knowledge.
• Conduct local arson vulnerability assessments.
• School education visits to all key stage 1 + 2 children
• Proactive work with partners to reduce deliberate grass fires in the Rhondda area
