Merthyr Tydfil Fire Station serves a varying range of industries, businesses and residential areas, as well as several retails parks and premises and a large Accident and Emergency hospital.

A Young Firefighters scheme held at the Station is currently attended by 20 individuals.

73 uniformed staff comprising 2 Watches of 9 and 2 Watches of 10, 34 Retained Duty System Firefighters and a Station Manager.

History

Merthyr Tydfil Fire Station has a large training complex that provides a realistic venue for a variety of training scenarios, including road traffic collisions and breathing apparatus training. The complex is used by the Training Department, surrounding Fire Stations and the Police.
