Your local FireFighters from Ely Community Fire Station responded to over 1295 calls in the year of April 2006 - April 2007, ranging from, Road Traffic Collisions, vehicle fires, to domestic property fires. The dedication of your local crews ensured all incidents where dealt with professionally at all times. In-addition to responding to calls, your local fire fighters visited 634 homes where free smoke alarms were fitted and advice given to all members of our community. Your Fire Fighters visited 35 schools in the community educating our children to the dangers of fire. The tremendous effort of the fire fighters has ensured a steady decline in accidental domestic property fires from 48 in 2005 to 39 in 2006, and crews will work with our communities to ensure everyone has equal access to our free education and smoke alarms service, to ensure this downward trend continues and all people in our communities are safe from fire.
If you need any fire safety advice, smoke alarms fitted in your home, or if you are a local community group who would benefit from our resources, then please contact the Station Manager, Brian Thompson, on 01443 232640.
