Ebbw Vale Fire Station 

Ebbw Vale Fire Station serves the towns of Ebbw Vale and Cwm. The estimated population of the area is 28,000 people, covering an area of approximately 13 square miles.

Ebbw Vale Fire Station serves a range of industrial, business and residential properties as well as a large retail park on the site of the 1992 Garden Festival, a busy town centre and a number of out-of-town supermarkets.

39 uniformed staff comprising 4 Watches and a Station Manager.


The Station opened in 1974 as a shift Station with a retained compliment.  In the mid 80’s it was changed to Day Crewed status.  However, in 2010 as a result of the significant changes in the Service, the Station returned to a 4 shift system with an increase of 19 personnel.  As a result of the changes, the Service introduced additional emergency resources to the Station including, crewing the Rescue Tender on a full time basis, 2 emergency boats for flooding and water rescue and a swift water rescue capability.
