Cwmbran Fire Station serves the town of Cwmbran and the surrounding villages of Llanfrecfa and Ponthir. The estimated population of the area is 50,000 people, covering an area of 2,000 hectares.

Cwmbran Fire Station serves a range of industries, businesses and residential areas, as well as a large retail park, growing town centre, sports stadium and leisure centre.

Community Initiatives

• Liaison with local authority for derelict vehicle retrieval system.
• Continued working with local police of known vehicle dumping areas.
• Assist other agencies in reducing RTC's in Cwmbran
• Continue to be pro-active in identifying vulnerable households and carrying out Home Fire Risk Checks
• Fire Service personnel also carried out over 600 Home Fire Risk Checks

46 uniformed staff comprising 4 Watches of 7 (Red, Green, Blue, White), 17 Retained Duty System Firefighters and a Station Manager.

Station opened in 1974. Two new bays added in 1992.
