Cefn Fforest Fire Station serves the towns of Cefn Fforest and Blackwood, and the surrounding villages of Ystrad Mynach, Aberbargoed, New Tredegar, Nelson, Pontllanfraith and Oakdale.  The estimated population of the area is over 72,000 people, covering an area of almost 10,000 hectares.

Cefn Fforest Fire Station is situated between the Sirhowy and Rhymney Valleys where it serves a range of industries, businesses and residential areas, including several major retailers who are based on the outskirts of town.
