Aberdare Station Business Plan

As Station Manager of Aberdare Community Fire Station, I would like to share our plans for the year ahead with you. These will provide you with an even better local service.

As ever, we aim to respond to your calls for help as quickly as we can. We intend to work harder than ever to prevent emergencies occurring in the first place. During the next twelve months we aim to:

  • Carry out FREE Home Fire Safety Checks and install smoke alarms free of charge where required.
  • Visit all our local schools to educate eight and eleven year olds in the dangers of fire. Continue to promote the ‘Firewatch’ project aimed at reducing arson in and around our school premises.
  • Further develop our citizen centered approach to service delivery by actively engaging with a wide range of community based groups.
  • Promote career awareness to all groups to better reflect the diversity of our local community
  • Work with our partners to educate drivers and young people to reduce death and serious injury from road traffic incidents.
  • Carry out regular familiarisation visits to high risk premises and maintain operational readiness to deal with incidents efficiently.
  • Actively participate and contribute to the Community Safety Partnership for Rhondda Cynon Taf
  • Continue to develop partnerships that meet both ours and the partners’ agendas where we can see tangible benefits to the public, both in service terms and in risk reduction terms.
