The crews of Duffryn community fire station responded to over 600 calls in the year 2007/08 ranging from commercial and domestic fires to road traffic collisions and other special service calls and animal rescues. The crews train on a daily basis in order to ensure that every time they are required to attend incidents and serve the local community and other areas all calls are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner.
In addition to attending incidents in the year 2007/08 Duffryn community fire station visited over 500 homes installing smoke alarms and giving home fire safety advice. This is to try and reduce the number of incidents in the homes that we attend and make people safer in their own environment and is done free of charge. The other main education drive we carry out is to visit every school in the community and talk to school years 2 and 5 about fire safety.
Duffryn Community Fire Station has a purpose built community room which is available for people to use and visit us to see what their local firefighters do.
If you need any fire safety advice or would like smoke alarms fitted free please call 01633 815002.
