The Mini Dragon is a youth development scheme with an emphasis placed on teamwork, leadership, life skills and respect. It is a based on the successful Dragon Programme which has been run by South Wales Fire and Rescue Service for four years.
During this action packed four day programme you will have the opportunity of learning Firefighting techniques with pumps and hose, how to work and climb a ladder, gain a first aid qualification (Heartstart) and gain knowledge on the search and rescue techniques used by fire-fighters when searching burning buildings. Other topics covered include road safety, home safety and issues facing fire-fighters in the community where you live i.e. hoax calls and grass fires.

13 - 15 years
Wear something comfortable for the day, tracksuit, t-shirt, fleece jacket. Please bring a thick pair of socks and a spare t-shirt.
You will be issued with personal protective equipment; boots, leggings, jacket, helmet and gloves. All other equipment will be provided.
A packed lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Dragon Program is limited to 20 persons per event, please book early to avoid disappointment.
