We employ approximately 1850 people to provide our services, including 1,000 Wholetime duty system Firefighters and 600 retained duty system Firefighters.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service serves the ten unitary authority areas of Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Monmouth, Merthyr, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan.
