Hoax Calls in your Area 

Our plea to you is to call the Fire Crime Unit on 0800 731 7287 if you have any information about the callers.

All these calls were made to South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. Some are challenged by Fire Control Operators but many result in Fire Control sending Fire Crews to their false call for help.

People responsible for making these hoax calls are putting as it can take South Wales Fire and Recue Service a few minutes longer to respond to actual incidents in the towns and villages of South Wales if the Service is responding to a hoax call.

Every time Firefighters is called out to a hoax call, not only does it cost the taxpayer thousands of pounds but it puts lives in danger as it means that Firefighters could be diverted from attending a real emergency – someone trapped in a house fire or a crashed car, where there is a potential life risk.
